Entrant 14 : "Kodiak" (Kymberly Powley) Tundra(DAM)/Tumble(SIRE) Litter

1. How did you discover this breed?

I have always loved wolves my entire life. My daughter, Chelsey and I were looking for a dog that resembled a wolf. We've considered a hybrid, but after reading what Pennsylvania required to have one, we decided against it. Chelsey was surfing the net and came across Blustag Tamaskan, Home of the Tamaskan, and we both instantly fell in love with the breed. I read through your site, did some research and everything seemed perfect for us, so I sent my deposit in and we patiently waited.

2. What did you initially thought a Tamaskan would be like?

After falling in love with the breed we were extremely excited to get our new puppy. We researched the breed throughly and everything seemed perfect about them.

3. How was the puppy during the first night home?

When Kodiak was born, we were like two proud parents of a newborn baby. Chelsey was counting down the days to when we could bring him home. When the time finally arrived, We chose to drive down so we could see how the other Tamaskans interacted with us. Well...they acted like we were part of their pack and greeted us with wagging tails. Next thing we knew, out came a little fur ball, full of spunk. We scooped him up and he just kept licking us. My parents came along for the ride, they weren't too sure about traveling seven hours with a nine week old puppy. To our surprise, Kodiak got in the car, left out a little howl, and slept the whole way home (besides the occasional potty stop).

4. How does the Tamaskan interact with other animals, children, and strangers?

When we got home, he was introduced to our Dutch Shepherd, Apache, and our two cats. He wasn't too sure about them at first-but now they are inseparable and best of friends! There are many comical moments with Kodiak, but one that I can remember, in particular, was when the local fire departments sirens went off, he ran around our backyard, howling his head off. Kodiak's personality is awesome, he is full of different noises (none of which I thought a dog could make). Sometimes I believe he thinks he's a human. He does not have a mean bone in his body-in fact he even likes playing with the cats. He has fit in with our family since day one. We constantly get compliments on how beautiful he is, and he knows it.

5. What is your Tamaskan's personality like currently?

We have been so happy with Kodiak, that I am planning on purchasing another one. I would recommend this breed to anyone, as well as your kennel (I have given out your website many times). Thank you Blustag Tamaskan for giving us the best friend we could ever ask for.
